This member of the holly family is so attractive with its darkest green/black foliage, and has very attractive red berries over the winter months which stand out beautifully against the dark foliage, this particular member of the holly family doesnt have super sharp prickly foliage like its cousins in the same family, its drought and wind tolerant, so will make an outstanding feature topiary specimen on a coastal property exposed to all the Mediterranean style weather elements !! Great in a pot/container or as a feature topiary specimen. The topiary plants of this ilex that I have currently in stock, are very very cool - each uniquely shaped in their design !!
